Whare Mauri Of The Pacific
To create an architectural form that acts as an icon of protection, prestige, and mana, this design took inspiration from the Māori cloak and the living art form of weaving. There are three main functions of the building: a theatre, a gallery and a library with exhibition spaces that celebrates Māori and Pacifica cultures.
The building is located on Queens wharf because of its connection to the city and ferry terminal, which will establish it as an iconic building, being as it will be one of the first things as you approach the harbour.
