Lyttelton Urban Intervention


The aim of this project is to design an environment that will be pleasant for both adults and children, a place where families and community members can come together to have fun and relax. Revitalizing empty or dead spaces in this small town as a way to attract more visitors and encourage more public interaction. There is a great potential for an open space along the main road where you can go to enjoy a picnic or take your young children to play on the swings and enjoy the flowing water on a hot day.

The final design consists of an open space, its structure is mainly composed of steel frames and glass roof structure. potentially, the space aims to serve as a steppingstone for something bigger. Added swings and flowing water was added to create a more welcoming location that the community could enjoy.
